Syria’s Children – How You Can Help

Syria’s Children – How You Can Help.

In the war-torn nation of Syria, children have taken center stage on the front lines of a horrific battle. A grown-up war. This is a crime against humanity, a war crime, and the world should not remain silent. Syria is in desperate need of help.

It is disheartening to know that most Syrian children living today have grown up never knowing peace. Today, everything around them is in ruin from barrel bombs filled with chlorine and sarin gases, and munition.  Syria and their allies have been targeting medical facilities schools, humanitarian personnel, and civilians.

Activist and humanitarian rescuers suspect that at least 75 people are dead and another 500 injured from this most recent chemical attack. An attack launched on innocent Syrians in Douma, a town on the outskirts of Damascus, by their own government.

Families are also seeking to leave Eastern Ghouta, Syria, with nothing more than a few treasured possessions. It is estimated that 50% of people fleeing violence are children.

Syria Aid Reaches People Of Eastern Ghouta, but nearly 70% of the medical-surgical and trauma kits are not being allowed in. The situation in Ghouta — “it’s catastrophic,” half of the hospitals in Ghouta are out of service. Surgeries are happening underground.

Food and some misc. medical supplies for nearly 27, 000 plus people are arriving in convoys. But it isn’t enough. You would need at least 3 convoys a week to even start to reach the population in most need.

There are nearly 400,000 thousand people in Eastern Ghouta who are trapped inside. Aid trucks are leaving before their allotted time, and before they can unload their trucks, because of all the shelling.

Idlib is the last area beyond government control, and this area too could be the Syrian government’s next target. This could present even more humanitarian aid needs. There is nowhere to hide but many places one can go to die in Syria.

SAVE THE CHILDREN, UNICEF and other humanitarian aid organizations are pushing forward in asking for help in preparation of the many that will flee or be rescued from Syria. There is a great need for food and healthcare.
