Want to increase your leadership skills?
What are some of the most critical skills a leader has in their toolbox?
You have all heard this one before, the rule of thumb is if you lose an A performer, it takes you 3 years of salary to get them back. Having goals, accountability, and rewards for your team ensures that you keep your A performers because it’s a huge expense to get another one back. Good leaders know this. How they come to know this – that is the real skill.
Good leaders need to be fully present, engaged, and resourcefully motivated. Listening requires an ability to focus your attention and engage your intelligence to understand. You can’t understand your employees if you aren’t fully engaged in the conversation yourself. By becoming fully engaged with employees you may prevent your A team from walking out the door.
