Title Doesn’t Make You Great- but These 7 Dimensions Do
What in your opinion makes a great leader? Does a title make you a great leader? Is a title earned or granted?
This week’s tip Your Title Doesn’t Make You a Great Leader, but These 7 Dimensions Do comes from Bill Carmondy, Founder and CEO of Trepoint. Bill sat down and interviewed author Nicole Heimann. Nicole discussed her book How to Develop the Authentic Leader In You, and using her model of integrating “The Seven Dimensions of Leadership Intelligence”.
Nicole lists for the reader, the 7 dimensions of leadership:
1) Physical Intelligence
2) Emotional Intelligence
3) Heart Intelligence
4) Communication Intelligence
5) Pragmatic Intelligence
6) Neuroscience Intelligence
and 7) Consciousness Intelligence.
Heimann offers quality questions about who we are and our own authenticity in our leadership role. Leading from our true selves is her theme, and she is very consistent with it throughout. As a highlight she goes over two topics from her book :
- From Intimacy Comes “Into-Me-See”
- Forget Your Title and Be Yourself
It’s a quick read but makes you think about your own leadership style and the intelligence dimensions you may utilize each and every day. Well worth the read. Thought proking, especially for those seeking growth in their own personal leadership.
